World Migratory Bird Day

Friends of Creamer's Field is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 92-0137107) dedicated to providing educational opportunities and family programs at Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. The refuge comprises approximately 2,200 acres of fields, woods, and wetlands in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The front field area and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Buildings are located on the northern edge of the City of Fairbanks.

Our Mission is "Inspiring environmental stewardship and lifelong learning through experience, awareness, appreciation and conservation of the natural and historic resources of Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge."

Friends of Creamer’s Field works collaboratively with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADFG) and other community partners to deliver education programs at Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. We operate out of the Farmhouse Visitor Center, the original Creamer family farmhouse (circa 1908), which features interpretive exhibits on migratory birds and the historic dairy complex. In addition to our schedule of programs and events, we serve as the fiscal sponsor for Camp Habitat, a summer day camp during the months of June and July.

We couldn't begin to accomplish our mission without the dedication and commitment of the Fairbanks community. We have over 100 active volunteers who continually provide support to Friends of Creamer's Field with their time. Volunteers assist with programs & events, are trained to lead guided nature walks on the Refuge, and work as Hosts in the Farmhouse Visitor Center.
