CIEDM has programmed as in past years local grassroots actions on the weekend of October 12 at Arcadia Ecohome to answer the 2024 calls of such interrelated regional, national and international campaigns for wildlife conservation as National Wildlife Refuge Week, Urban Wildlife Week, Urban Wildlife Conservation Day, and of course World Migration Bird Day, all taken place around the 2nd and 3rd weeks of October. CIEDM actions at the Ecohome include: 1. Engage a participatory-science based discovery walk in and around the yards of Arcadia Ecohome, enjoy watching of flowers & fruits, birds, pollinators, and other creatures, and discuss what should/can be done in the yards; 2. Engage physical works to cleanup and enhance wildlife friendly features at the Ecohome, a Certified Wildlife Habitat, Certified Pollinator Habitat, Certified Monarch Waystation and Verified Ocean Friendly Garden, with a focus on maintaining the forest floors at the Ecohome's pocket forest to harbor insects and worms by adding fallen leaves and twigs; and, 3. Share and spread what the campaign messages are and what we are doing at the Ecohomem as part of CIEDM participation in the celebration of those campaigns.
