In this session of the "Loritos del Papaloapan" club, a bird watching activity will be conducted, during which, in addition to species observation, we aim to convey a message to the participants about topics related to science.
We start by asking them to register, as keeping track of attendance is important. Once everyone is registered and welcomed, we proceed to explain the objective of the workshop and how we will work during this session. We begin with the club's second bird watching activity. On this occasion, while observing birds, we will present the scientific method, its definition, what it consists of, and how it can be implemented through birdwatching. We will also introduce the concept of citizen science with examples, encouraging them to share their opinions with fictional and community examples.
Next, with the support of the tutor, participants will interact with the citizen science applications Merlin and Ebird, learning how to use them. Afterward, we will tally the birds observed during the bird watching activity, analyzing the species sighted. We will discuss upcoming activities, thus concluding this workshop.
